Greenland is the largest island in the world that is not a continent with the majority of the island located above the Arctic Circle. The ski touring in West Greenland is considered to be one of the last frontiers of ski touring. It is a difficult place to reach, but the solitude and remote pristine mountains make it well worth the effort. Along its rugged west coast lies Maniitsoq, a small town of about 2,500 residents—our gateway to one of the most spectacular ski touring regions on Earth.
Join us for an unforgettable 8-day ski and sail expedition along the remote and dramatic West Coast of Greenland. Starting in the coastal town of Maniitsoq, you’ll board the M/V Terschelling— A 12-passenger expedition ship offers a cozy and intimate setting, ensuring personalized attention and exceptional comfort throughout your journey. Cruising through glacier-carved fjords and past towering peaks, you’ll discover pristine ski touring and mountaineering terrain ranging from steep couloirs to gentle beach-to-summit slopes. Each day brings new adventures as we ascend summits between 1000 to 1600 meters, skiing down to the sea and returning each evening to the warm comforts of the ship. With terrain suited to a wide range of abilities and expert guides selecting routes based on daily conditions, this Arctic adventure promises both challenge and awe-inspiring beauty for every kind of skier.
North of Maniitsoq stretches the Eternity Fjord, the second-largest fjord system in the world. This dramatic, glaciated landscape features steep couloirs, alpine ridgelines, and island traverses—offering skiing opportunities that range from summit-to-sea descents to untouched powder fields. Elevations rise from sea level to 1,600 meters, with terrain suited to a wide variety of skier abilities.
These remote ski zones are accessible only by boat, keeping the landscape pristine and the experience truly adventurous. Each day, we travel by sea to reach new objectives, discovering untouched terrain and breathtaking vistas.
Spring is the prime season for ski touring in Greenland. Long daylight hours, mild weather, and a typically stable snowpack make for ideal conditions. While the snow can range from powder to spring corn, the variety of aspects and terrain nearly always ensures great skiing.
With a 1:6 guide-to-guest ratio and two professional guides onboard, groups can split to pursue different objectives, whether seeking steeper lines, scenic traverses, or mellow glacier tours.

Days 2–6 – Ski Touring the Fjords
We will spend six full days exploring the terrain north of Maniitsoq, including Eternity Fjord and beyond Kangaamiut Village. Each day will bring new ski objectives. With the mobility of our vessel, we have endless opportunities to anchor at ideal ski locations.
Day 7 – Final Ski & Return to Maniitsoq
We’ll enjoy a final day of skiing near Maniitsoq. In the late afternoon, we’ll return to town and spend our last night onboard M/V Terschillig in Maniitsoq Harbour.
Day 8 – Departure
After breakfast, we’ll disembark M/V Terschilling and transfer to the airport for departure.
The first night of our trip will be spent in a basic cabin in the small fishing village of Kuummiut, Greenland. The cabin does not have running water and provides an outhouse for the toilet. There will be an opportunity to take a hot shower at the community center if needed. Kuummiut is a traditional Greenlandic village with colourful houses dotting the white landscape along the ocean. This is a wonderful opportunity to have a look into the traditional way of life in Eastern Greenland.
The bulk of our trip will be spent at a remote mountain hut 5 hours by dog sled from the village of Kuummiut. The hut is located in deep in the Greenlandic mountains in an unreal setting. The hut is small, but will comfortably sleep 10 people. There is diesel heat and a propane stove for cooking. There are some large windows in the hut and a great deck with incredible views. Even the view from the outhouse doesn’t disappoint.
The final night of our trip will be spent in a three star hotel in Kulusuk with views of both the mountains and the ocean. Each of the rooms are double occupancy with twins beds and include ensuite bathroom with hot showers. There is also a restaurant and small bar in the hotel.
6 guest cabins with two twin beds.
Each cabin has its own en-suite bathroom with shower, toilet and wash basin.
The large saloon area is perfect to relax and hang out, play games, music, or find your own space to watch the
world go by.
